Yes you heard it right… the new Tesla Cybertruck will also have the ability to double up as a boat. Not surprising as Elon based the design on the S1 Lotus Elise ("Wet Nellie”) from the 1977 James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me. It’s a shame the Cybertruck won’t go underwater as well!
It is an unexpected claim from Elon Musk, but apparently the electric pickup will soon have the capability to transform into a boat that can travel 100 metres across water.
Musk stated in his tweet that the only modifications the Cybertruck will require are improvements to the door seals.
The CEO of Tesla, has revealed that the Cybertruck will be utilising a special 30X-series stainless steel in the build. The strength and endurance of this material are well known, and they are essential to the toughness and usefulness that define the eye-catching Cybertruck.
Regarding the particular provider of this stainless steel, no formal disclosure has been made. Nonetheless, there is conjecture that Tesla may be producing the specialist alloy in-house or closely collaborating with a partner steel supplier, considering that the firm has a history of vertically integrating many of its production processes.
The Tesla Cybertruck went on sale to US consumers in December 2023, despite some shocking specifications for the all-electric pickup truck: the fastest Cyberbeast range-topper can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.6 seconds, and the truck is "bulletproof" to withstand small-arms fire of.45 in and 9mm calibre.
Distribution in the UK is still unknown. The truck manufacturer appears to be fully occupied fulfilling demand from the US alone, as it hasn't accepted orders for the vehicle from anywhere else in the world in a while. The company has "more orders of the first Cybertrucks than we could possibly fulfil for three years after the start of production," according to a statement made by Musk earlier in 2022.
